5 gutters vs 6 gutters.
We re getting gutters on the front and sides of our home replaced by r g roofing.
In reality six inch gutter can be overwhelmed and over flow.
Currently we are seeing more residents expand their downspouts to 3 x4 and some even install the complete 6 gutter system.
In general it is worth noting that the performance of 6 inch gutters is much higher than the 5 inch gutter it has.
In the past residential homes have 5 gutters and 2 x3 downspouts and commercial buildings have 6 gutters with 3 x4 downspouts.
5 inch kind isn t much.

They are recommending the 6 inch kind and the cost difference vs.
For those torrential downpours 6 k style gutter can handle a larger volume of water than 5 k style gutter.
Anyone know anything about going with the six inch kind.
This further decreases the chance for overflow of your gutter even during the hardest of windblown downpours.
Under such conditions the drainage system of your house will be able to handle more water than a gutter of 5 inches.

A larger gutter actually will hold more debris than a standard five inch gutter and is not self cleaning.
